Welcome to Liner Notes Productions
Liner Notes Productions (LNP) produces live stand-up comedy and music concert programming. Our content is recorded in super high definition, 7.1 surround sound audio in small venues. LNP is born out of the union of Digital Cafe Tour's (DCT) innovative, multiple TELLY award-winning production team with one of New Jersey's top small venue, Crossroads.
Started in 2005, DCT was really the first production company to record multi-camera, high resolution audio live music and stand-up comedy content in small venues. DCT understood, long before the production industry at large, that video content would be consumed across platforms scaling from flat screens all the way down to smart phones. Knowing this to be inevitable, our team produced its content to scale seamlessly across those platforms, with no loss of viewer experience. DCT was over a decade ahead of the curve, and imitated by numerous production companies in the years to come.
Crossroads has been a fixture in the live music scene in New Jersey for over 20 years. A beautiful cabaret performance space, Crossroads is a destination venue for touring national performers, as well as regional and local musical acts and stand-up comedians. Artists who appear there regularly include Southside Johnny, Smithereens, Gaslight Anthem, and many others.
LNP is in partnership with Academy Award-winning production company, FilmNation (Arrival, The Big Sick, The King's Speech) on a star-studded stand-up comedy series called The Art of Comedy. Currently in active pre-production, our roster of comedians includes Mario Cantone, Jake Johanssen, Kevin Pollack, Paula Poundstone, Carmen Lynch, Mike E. Winfield, Larry Miller, Tom Cotter and a list of other top comedy stars.
The Art of Comedy interlaces live stand-up performances with in-depth interviews and B-roll footage designed to show the viewer the blood, sweat and tears it takes to become a master comedian. Hosted and booked by Eddie Brill, (seasoned comedian and comedy booker for David Letterman for 17 years), this show brings a VIP feel to the artist interviews with insight into the genre that only a veteran of comedy like Eddie Brill has to offer.
Next up behind The Art of Comedy is The Art of Music. This show features a who's who of the music industry's elite performers across multiple genres. It is LNP's bone of contention that "The song IS the story, and everyone is a VIP." Like our comedy offering, The Art of Music interlaces behind-the-scenes interviews and off-the-cuff performances of songs with live concert footage recorded at Crossroads.

We are currently in production on a documentary about the late, great music producer, Bob Johnston, who was responsible for the most seminal works of Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash... the list goes on. Here's trailer of some of the 12 hours of footage already in the can for this music documentary.
